Trump Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Israeli Attacks on Hospital
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump voiced his dissatisfaction on Monday regarding a series of Israeli air raids on Gaza’s Nasser Medical Complex, which resulted in the deaths of 20 individuals, including five journalists and a firefighter.
“I’m not happy about it. I don’t want to see it,” Trump stated to reporters in the Oval Office.
He also emphasized the urgency of ending the ongoing crisis, adding, “At the same time, we have to end that nightmare. I’m the one that got the hostages out.”
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the airstrikes killed 20 Palestinians, encompassing patients, healthcare staff, civil defense members, and media teams, while injuring several others.
The ministry reported that the Israeli military targeted the fourth floor of one of the medical complex’s buildings with two separate airstrikes.
Significantly, the second attack happened as rescue teams were arriving to evacuate the injured and recover those who had died.
Official Palestine TV announced that among the casualties was its cameraman Hussam al-Masri, while the Qatari channel Al Jazeera confirmed that its photographer Mohammad Salama was also among those killed.
A medical source informed a news agency about the death of photojournalist Mariam Abu Dagga, with photojournalist Moaz Abu Taha also reported killed during the Israeli strikes targeting the hospital.
Further medical sources told the news agency that Ahmed Abu Aziz, a freelance journalist working with Tunisian and Moroccan news outlets, succumbed to injuries sustained in the attacks.
Trump additionally mentioned his belief that "a little bit less than 20" hostages held in Gaza are still alive, while implying that “one or two are gone.”
